COVID 19

COVID 19 has forced us all to adapt the way we go about our lives, with tennis being no different.

Court bookings through the Book a Court system and court access are the same as they were previously. Details on these can be found on our Court Booking page.

As directed by Tennis Victoria, and State and Local Government, the below restrictions are currently in place at Cambridge Tennis Club.

These restrictions will change as needed, based on directions from the Government. Please refer back to this page for the latest restrictions that are in place at Cambridge Tennis Club.

These restrictions apply to all people who use the facility, members and the general public.

Random spot checks will be carried out by Council and the Club Committee to ensure compliance.

Anyone who does not comply with these restrictions will be given a temporary ban from the Book a Court system.

If you test positive to COVID 19 and have been at Cambridge Tennis Club while infectious, please notify the Club immediately!

Current Restrictions In Place

Last updated 2020-10-23

Court Use

  • Only 3 courts are available for booking. The rest are closed and should not be used.
    • Additional courts may be closed when club activities, competitions, or coaching is occurring. Depending on the restrictions at the time, this may mean that no courts are available for booking.
  • Due to the limits on available courts, all users (members and public) are only allowed to make one booking a day
  • A maximum of 10 people are allowed to be in the facility at a time.
    • If there are already 8 people in the facility (4 people playing doubles on 2 of the courts), only 2 additional people are allowed to enter the facility.
    • Spectators are not allowed in the facility. Spectators must remain inside a vehicle while watching.
  • Players from a maximum of 2 households are allowed on a court.
    • You are not allowed to play doubles if everyone (or any 3 of the 4 people) does not live together
  • On arrival, all players should scan the QR code that is available on the outside of the building and fill in the form it takes you to. This will assist with contact tracing, allowing us to contact you if there is a possibility you have been exposed to COVID 19 while at the tennis club
    • This data is collected through https://www.visitsafe.at. If there is a confirmed case of COVID 19 at the tennis club, this data may be shared with other parties for the purpose of contact tracing.
Hygiene
  • If you have any COVID 19 symptoms, do not attend Cambridge Tennis Club
  • All players should follow good hygiene techniques as directed by the Department of Health and Human Services - https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/staying-safe-covid-19
  • All players must wear a mask when going to and from the courts. Masks can be taken off when playing on the tennis courts
  • All players should be physically distant at all times. Instead of shaking hands, give each other a racquet tap.
  • Shared equipment must not be used. All players must bring their own tennis racquet.
  • All players should wash their hands before attending and after leaving the club. Bringing hand sanitizer with you is recommended

In addition to the above, we recommend all players familiarise themselves with the Community Tennis Guidelines as published by Tennis Victoria.

Members and Competitions

New members are welcome to join the club. See our Membership page for more details.

As a thank you to our members who signed up earlier in the year, the club will be offering memberships for the next membership year (March 2021 to February 2022) at the half yearly rate (this is generally a 30-40% discount, depending on the membership category).
If you would like to do this, we will have more details on the membership form for next year.

Alternatively, members may request a partial refund on their membership fees for this membership year (note that the value of this partial refund will be less than the discount you would receive on the membership fees for next year).

If you would like to do this, please email info@cambridgetennisclub.com.au to organise this.

Note that the above are only being offered to those who were members prior to 2020-10-01.

For those who have submitted entry fees for Winter WRTA competitions that did not go ahead, the club is offering two options.

  • Carry over this entry fee to the next WRTA competition season. The club will retain your entry fee.
There will be an option where you can select this on the entry forms for the next season
  • Request a refund for the full entry fee.
Please email info@cambridgetennisclub.com.au to organise this.

Please note that the club is currently unable to deal with physical money or forms.

All transactions must be done electronically for the foreseeable future.
